Marc Rohner of London, Ohio, is the only living donor to the traveling “Body Worlds” exhibit.
Rohner decided to donate his leg when, after three years of fighting bone cancer, he found out doctors needed to amputate it.
“Body Worlds” poses plastinated bodies in action poses, exposing bone and muscle. For Rohner’s donation, the team used a band saw to cut his calf and foot into about 80 slices (about 1 millimeter thin), revealing the details of tissue and bone.
